From Brazil to China, the United States and Sweden, Young Leaders builds bridges across borders to empower youth, promote justice, and foster sustainability.
The Global Young Leaders Project is an official partner of Global View on China, an international organization that offers scholarships for cultural exchange and educational programs in China. With two annual editions, the partnership secures guaranteed spots for members of Global Young Leaders, providing immersive experiences in major cities such as Beijing and Shanghai.
Participants engage in learning experiences in the fields of youth diplomacy, culture, economy, sustainability, innovation, and international relations. The program includes visits to universities, historical sites, companies, and renowned institutions across China. Workshops, panels, and meetings with experts from multiple sectors make this an enriching opportunity.
Each edition brings together over 60 young people from all continents — South America, North America,Central America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania — forming a global network of youth leadership committed to social change, international cooperation, and climate justice.
The program is coordinated by Beatrice de Salles, Director of Global Young Leaders in the USA and China, who also serves as a mentor and head of the international committee, providing institutional, logistical, andeducational support to all participants.
This partnership strengthens the exchange between Brazil and the world, offering concrete opportunities forpersonal growth and collective impact. Participants return to their home countries with new perspectives, projects, and global collaboration networks, reinforcing Global Young Leaders' mission to transform local communities through global experiences.
In the United States, Jovens Líderes has taken a significant step in its international expansion with the launch of the Global Young Leaders initiative. The project now includes a local front in Brazil and an international extension in the United States, headquartered in California, under the leadership of journalist and international relations expert Beatrice de Salles.

Her responsibilities include selecting youth leaders to join international teams, organizing groups to participate in cultural and diplomatic programs in China, and building connections with universities, academic networks, and NGOs around the world.
She will also lead fundraising efforts and strengthen institutional partnerships with multilateral organizationssuch as the United Nations (UN), UNESCO, and the World Economic Forum (WEF). The U.S. extension willplay a key role in implementing global projects, exchange programs, and intercultural initiatives that connect youth committed to social transformation, climate justice, and innovation across all continents.
In Sweden, the Global Young Leaders project strengthens its international presence through a significant partnership with the Stockholm Junior Water Prize – Brazil, one of the most prestigious awards focused on sustainability and innovation in water usage.
This collaboration enables young Brazilians to participate in the international stage of the award held in Stockholm, where they have the opportunity to present their projects, exchange experiences with scientists and environmental activists, and connect with youth leaders from various countries.

In 2020, a youth-led movement was born in Itarema, on the western coast of Ceará, Brazil. Driven by grassroots activism and the urgent needs of their communities, a group of young people came together to create a transformative collective. Their mission was clear: to promote social justice, civic education, and the strengthening of traditional territories.
The foundation of the movement was built on listening, dialogue, and deep engagement with local residents — including fishing, rural, and Indigenous communities. Through active listening, the youth identified key structural challenges such as the lack of basic sanitation, limited access to education, and the absence of public policies targeting young people.
Created from local realities and listening to traditional communities.
Led by young people to address structural challenges with impact.
In response to the identified needs, they launched projects focused on political education, environmental protection, cultural preservation, and the empowerment of local leaders. From the beginning, active listening and youth leadership were the pillars of the movement, which quickly grew into a space of resistance, care, and concrete action.
The group embraced ancestral knowledge and promoted a strong sense of belonging to the land. Starting in Itarema, the movement has gone on to inspire other youth across Ceará, throughout Brazil, and even internationally.
